20. Why Did Elijah the Prophet Command Like That?

  The Sunday school teacher was carefully explaining the story of Elijah the Prophet and the false prophets of Baal. She explained how Elijah built the altar, put wood upon it, cut the steer in pieces and laid it upon the altar.

  And then she continued to explain that Elijah commanded the people of God to fill four barrels of water and pour it over the altar. She said that he had them do this four times.

  After the explanation, she said, "Now, can anyone in the class tell me why the Lord had Elijah pour water over the steer on the altar?"

  All of the students in the class remained silent, but after a while a little girl in the back of the room raised her hand and said, "Well, I'm not sure, but it seems an easy question. Probably it is to ____________________. All the class could not help laughing together.
